A relative newcomer to the robot vacuum space, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping system that's impressive. It's expensive and hampered by a slow, clunky learning curve application.

Features

The Narwal T10 is a combination robot vacuum for hardwood floors vacuum and mop that can sweep, scrub, and clean hard floors. Its intelligent navigation and mapping system is built on simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology. It also comes with anti-collision and cliff-sensing technologies, which help to prevent the machine from accidentally crashing into furniture or falling down the stairs. It also detects and avoid rugs. This is a common issue for many robot vacuums, mops and hybrids.

The robot has two large water tanks: one to keep clean and one for dirty. It automatically pre-soaks the pads in clean water prior to a mopping session. During the mopping process sensors will inform you when it is time to change the pads and refill water. It consumes 16 ounces of clean water, which is less than other similar robots.

The T10 will automatically dry the pads when you've cleaned them. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Then, it will resume its mopping job where it stopped. This eliminates the necessity of washing your hands manually which is a great thing since it shields you from bacterial and allergens. The mopping function of the T10 is powered by a motor that rotates the pad three times per second. This ensures thorough cleaning, particularly around edges and corners. The rotating pad and the dual side brushes sift hair, dirt and other debris into the vacuum slots. This eliminates the dust bin and is much more eco-friendly than traditional cleaning methods.

You can draw a map of your space and designate specific areas to sweep or mop. You can also choose the level of cleaning like a thorough clean that gets rid of dirt and debris to ensure an efficient job. You can also create "no-go zones" to instruct the robot not to walk over area rugs or other obstacles.

Design

Robot vacuums are an essential household appliance that helps keep your home clean and tidy. The app lets you modify your cleaning settings as well as schedule scheduled mopping.

It also comes with an option to switch between vacuuming and mopping modes, which can be useful if your floors are dirty and you have to clean them up fast. It is equipped with a suction motor that is effective at sucking up dirt and debris, though it struggles to remove debris lodged in carpets and rug.

Performance

The Narwal Freo does an amazing job cleaning hard floors. It has large water tanks that are simple to maintain and a variety mopping intensity settings. It is also able to clean small spills and messes from carpet. Its vacuuming capabilities are less impressive, however. Its suction power of 1,800Pa is a bit lower than more expensive robo-vacuums, such as the Roborock S6 MaxV Ultra.

The Freo's intelligent mapping and navigation technology gives it the ability to adjust to the surroundings and devise an optimized cleaning program. It utilizes simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) to create an image of its surroundings, working in a zig-zag style to ensure a uniform finish and avoid cross-contamination. It is then able to share this map using the narwal app so you can modify cleaning settings and establish no-go zones that will stop it from mopping or vacuuming certain areas.

Once the Freo has been identified, it can automatically continue cleaning where it left. The mop of the Freo is self-cleaning and return to the docks to rinse after each use. This reduces time and keeps hands free from allergens and dirt. The Freo also conserves water by using just 16 oz per mopping cycle. This is the same amount of water as in a large coffee cup.

This robot can easily switch from mopping to vacuuming. It's a great option for people who have both types of equipment in their home. The sweeping capabilities of this robot are outstanding, and it does an excellent job of removing dust, pet hair, and other debris. Dual side brushes on the Freo let it get into corners more efficiently than single brush vacuums. Its cliff-sensing, anti-collision and anti-stuck functions also help it avoid getting stuck or hitting furniture.

The Narwal T10 is more expensive than its competition however, it is a great vacuum/mop combo. The Narwal T10's large base station has two 1.3 gallon tanks that need to be refilled frequently. This can be very frustrating especially if your robotic has a tank that fills faster. The app is messy and frustrating and doesn't have the customization features you'd expect from a machine that costs more.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is unique amongst all the other robovacs on the market. The T10 is a two-in-one self-cleaning machine designed from the ground-up. While others boast great vacuuming capabilities with a mopping function added on, it was designed to be a best self emptying robot vacuum-cleaning two-in-one machine. Its mopping and sweeping capabilities are extremely efficient and are easy to control via the narwal app but it also has buttons on its base station that allow manual adjustment during cleaning sessions.

If you'd like the T10 to skip over certain areas, simply mark them as no-go zones in the application and it will steer clear of them during cleaning sessions.
