Lever/Lever

However, levers don't create energy. They multiply the force by converting small amounts of effort applied over a lengthy distance into larger amounts of force applied over smaller distances. Levers are used to lift heavy objects and move huge amounts of cargo. This is also the basis behind the levers you find in a variety of everyday tools, such as crowbars, fishing rods, claws for hammers and even your own legs when you stand on the hand brake of your car.

Lever/Pad

Lever pad handles are a form of door handle made from UPVC with levers on both sides that operate the multipoint lock. Lever pad handles are available in various finishes and variations and can be used on a variety of materials such as UPVC doors, aluminium window handle doors & Timber Doors. They are sold in pairs for the inner and outer door with spindles & screws included. They are also available in handed and unhandled versions for different users.

They are commonly used in new constructions and can be fitted to replace existing upvc doors. The levers are lowered to open all multipoint locks and the key is turned to close or unlock the door. They provide additional security when compared to traditional lever door handles because the locking function can only be gained by entering the patio door handle with lock with a key unless the door is deadlocked.

They're not as secure as a cylinder lock, but they're cost-effective ways to add extra security to your home. The only downside is that they do not offer the same level of security like a cylinder bolt and consequently don't block access to outside if the door has been left open.

Typically, these will be designed to be compatible with a 92mm lock, or the replacement version of this called a Paddock lock. Lever/Moveable Pad

This popular style of handle is commonly used on front doors. It offers the benefit of preventing the door from being opened without a key from the outside when the lock hasn't been deadlocked. This is accomplished through the 'pad'-shaped external handle which locks in the gap between the handles and the lock case to stop the latch from being removed or the door being opened.

This handle is designed to work with uPVC multipoint locks that employ split spindle mechanisms.
