After retiring from teaching, Judith wished to continue to utilize her storytelling skills to assist kids who are inadequately. 'I had actually always delighted in reading to the kids in school at the end of the day. You could see them noticeably relax and be taken in by the story. Mark joined the NHS in his 30s after leaving his family's company without any formal qualifications, however a drive to make a difference. He started as a mental health assistance employee and went on to train as a basic nurse. He qualified at 37 and spent the next twenty years gradually climbing up the ladder. ' I tried to turn off a bedside lamp and felt like something wasn't ideal with me. I knew directly away it was a stroke.' In July 2023, after an active holiday kayaking and walking, Bob unexpectedly had a stroke. He was flown by air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he spent 4 weeks rehabilitating. 'I utilized the health club regularly and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)'. NROL is a group rehab programme for individuals who have actually had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. 'I had a structured timetable which provided me something to anticipate every week - socially, emotionally and emotionally.' Bob thanked NHS personnel for 'the fantastic support' and the continuous physiotherapy he got. Well done Bob and great work group! Early acknowledgment of stroke symptoms can save lives. ' Working together with nurses and seeing the difference they made inspired me to think, 'I could do that!" Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who started her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she joined Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve patients in Hertfordshire. 'I liked assisting people and discovering about the body, so nursing simply felt right.' Sharon reflects. Sharon has worked in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy to name a few, showing the large range of areas in which nurses make a distinction. 'Truly, I can't think of a location where nurses do not make an effect in some form,' Sharon confesses. On why her function is unique, Sharon describes, 'The care, kindness, and empathy we bring make the nursing role distinct. As patient advocates, we assist ensure their journey is supported, informed, and really meaningful.' There are more than 50 various types of nursing roles available in the NHS.
