What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds an additional widget to the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. This Manager costs 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no benefit in terms of gameplay other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosters

Costs

There are a few costs that are associated with upgrades to items. The first cost is the upgrade itself. The cost for this upgrade can be costly and is dependent on the new level of the item as well as the number of perks it receives. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a higher tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The cost of these changes is based on the item's new ilvl, and it may require a specific material, such as an adamantine alloy.

Success Rate

The basis for upgrading items is the chance of success, and as with any random system there is an opportunity that the upgrade won't succeed. However there are a few factors that can increase the odds of success. This includes using an Best item upgrader (head to the Bravejournal site) called an Upgrade Pity or the addition of extra materials to the upgrade.

The Upgrade Pity can be purchased through the NPC for crafting in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of an upgrade's success by some percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus that some items come with however it is more solid. It can be added to any weapon or armor and can be used three times.

You can also add additional materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. These are displayed in a window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.

Another way to increase the odds of a successful upgrade is by using an item level upgrade called Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is beneficial if you have a weapon or piece of equipment that is at the highest level for its tier or is close to it. It will let you upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without having to worry about it breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful it will be restored to its original state. This is usually a break, but it could also be an upgrade. It is an excellent idea to save an upgrade for when you're close to the maximum capacity of an item, and use it as a last resort.
