The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a good option if you're looking to buy an affordable robot vacuum and mop. It has a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
In the course of testing, it was able to handle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard floors. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to help you map your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features, including the self-emptying dirt container built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your habits of cleaning, and suggest automatic vacuum and mop robot schedules to give you an effortless cleaning experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the touch of one button. You can select the general clean option which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that the entire home is cleaned thoroughly.
This robot vac performs well on both bare floors and carpets with low pile. It can take in large objects and does not lose suction as fast as some other models and can pick up pet hair with ease. It has a difficult time with carpets that are high-pile or plush however iRobot claims that future models will be better.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that is focused on improving the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are common however we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an improved filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the high price cost.
Its smart navigation system uses sensors that remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map the interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, such as stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire house in the most efficient way possible.
